Faria Nasruddin

Faria Nasruddin is an independent research consultant and analyst focusing on regional security, U.S. policy, and women's issues in the Middle East & North Africa. She was previously a program associate at the Wilson Center's Middle East Program, where she led the Middle East Women's Initiative and contributed to the Middle East Track II Dialogues Program. She has also held roles at the Middle East Institute, the Overseas Development Institute, and the Journal for Cold War Studies. In addition to her research and analysis, Faria has extensive experience in editing, project management, and communications and events. Her work has been featured in publications such as More to Her Story, the Georgetown Journal of International Affairs, Politics & Gender, and a variety of think tank platforms. Faria holds an A.M. in Middle Eastern Studies from Harvard University and an A.B. in history from Bowdoin College. She is fluent in Portuguese, proficient in Arabic, and is currently learning French. Faria was chosen to be part of the 2025 NextGen Cohort for Foreign Policy for America and is a member of several professional associations, including the Women's Foreign Policy Group and the Young Professionals in Foreign Policy Group.
